Marketing & Communication Coordinator
At Unity Design Studio, we believe remarkable talent, enthusiasm, and creative thinking add up to great work. We’re looking for someone with excellent writing, research and marketing skills to be our full-time, in-house copywriter. As a member of the Communication team, the Marketing and Communication Coordinator will write and edit content for a variety of projects (including print, web, mobile, video, and social media), working closely with the Communication team to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and articulate messaging. Thorough research and interviews are required for every client’s industry, products, services, branding, and marketing. The most successful candidate will be a quick learner who has a versatile writing style.

We require a creative Marketing and Communications Coordinator who thrives in a fast- paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times. The marketing tasks will require you to prepare the material specific copy to the request for proposal requirements and coordinate the information required from relevant consultants. Communications will require you to write, edit and execute the content that supports our communications strategy and stays consistent to our brand.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage the proposal process from start to proposal delivery, including working with teams to develop winning themes, leading kickoff and review meetings, writing and editing, and proposal production
Prepare compliant, responsive proposals from outline through finishing touches
Draft content from existing material and conversations with subject matter experts
Work with colleagues at all levels of the organization to gather input for proposals
Organize content from various contributors and edit so documents read as one voice
Use creative skills to format and develop visually appealing layouts
Proofread documents for consistency, grammar, and key messaging
Produce final print and digital documents and arrange for on-time delivery
Research industry and client trends
Maintain proposal collateral, keeping reusable content current
Apply marketing and communications skills to other functions of the business
(e.g., report preparation, content marketing, internal communications)
Help develop and execute communications plans and programs that meet business requirements and goals
Develop social media content, monitor media and report on media metrics
Execute day-to-day external communications
Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Studio to ensure a clean and managed working environment is met.
Key Skills / Experience:
A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in proposal, communications, marketing, or business writing
An undergraduate degree or diploma in communications, marketing, or business-related field
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple proposals in a fast-paced environment and deal with changing priorities
Ability to critically analyze written content against requirements to create compliant and responsive proposals
Ability to drive consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social media platforms.
Clear and professional communication within all levels of an organization, both in person and remotely
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience managing a content library
Familiarity using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop an asset
Strong work ethic, team player, and pro-active attitude
Highly organized and detail oriented.

What You Can Expect During The Hiring Process:

1st interview with the Administrative Principal and Director of Communication Strategies

When appropriate the candidate will be asked to prepare an exercise in advance of the 2nd interview
2nd interview
Decision and offer within 3 weeks of commencing the interview process.
