Celebrating National Canoe Day!

Happy National Canoe Day from all of us at Unity.

If horses and trails helped shape the spirit of the United States, then in Canada, it’s canoes and waterways. Woven into the land itself, they trace paths of travel, trade, and tradition. Few things are as iconic, or as deeply Canadian, as the canoe. The rhythm of paddles meeting water. The quiet between each stroke. A vessel of movement, memory, and meaning. Rooted in Indigenous knowledge, the canoe holds a legacy that runs deep across this land.

For Unity, helping bring The Canadian Canoe Museum's new home to life was more than a project. It was a journey. One that drew us into the story of the canoe and its place in our shared history. Along the way, we came to understand it not just as an object, but as a teacher. A symbol of connection. A way of seeing the world.

Today, we’re sharing photos of our team out on the water in celebration. We’re grateful for what the canoe represents, and the stories it continues to carry forward.
