Peterborough Fire Station No. 2

Peterborough, Ontario

The City of Peterborough and Peterborough Fire Services are pleased to be relocating Fire Station No. 2 to its new site at 100 Marina Boulevard.

The new 11,000 sq. ft. Fire Station will be the city’s first net- zero energy project, and net-zero carbon project.

The buildings timber structure is another carbon sequestering material and geothermal heating helps to offset the operational carbon within the building, by not burning any fuel during the regular operations.

It was important to the City of Peterborough and Fire Services that the building be respectful of its site and surroundings. For that reason, the large, forested area at the rear of the lot is maintained, and the park to the West is also maintained along with its playing fields.

Currently under construction and on schedule for completion in the spring of 2024.
