Uplands Residence

Completed in 2015, the Uplands Residence sets a new standard for student residences at the Lakefield College School. The building has been designed to LEED Gold standards, not only for its environmental sustainability, but also for the level of comfort it provides to the students who live there.

Brock Mission is a homeless shelter for men that includes sleeping, dining and program areas. The three-storey building is designed around a courtyard and accommodates 32 shelter beds, 15 transitional housing suites, common areas, and a dining hall which will provide three meals a day all year.

This project begins to address the requirements of the provincial Places-to-Grow Act that mandates densification in the urban core area of Ontario cities. Over time, cities must densify to meet population growth. As such, these townhome concepts begin to rethink medium density growth in an existing residential fabric and streetscape.
