What Scott Does

As director of Quality Control, Scott has oversight on all studio projects. He works with project teams to ensure our collective and coordinated work meets the highest standards for clarity, consistency, and technical proficiency.

Scott develops and promotes best practices in the technical production of Unity’s construction documents, aided by ongoing education and integrating lessons learned drawn from Unity’s extensive industry experience. He manages relationships with industry reps, links technical information to our library, creates learning opportunities, and partners with our in-house specifications manager.

Scott’s goal is to have design intent reflected in the studio’s output, ensuring our vision withstands the rigour of constrained budgets and expedited schedules.

Why Scott Does it

Scott enjoys the team atmosphere at Unity, the pressures of a busy office, and the need to stay abreast of industry developments. He gains satisfaction through participation in good design that is backed by competent detailing, clearly expressed, and well-constructed. Above all Scott needs to be in a creative space that respects the role that good design plays in our lives.

Giving

To fulfill our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, every member of the Unity team has chosen an organization that aligns with their personal values and purpose. Unity has made a donation on behalf of each team member to their chosen organization.

Why Scott chose: The Youth Emergency Shelter

“Peterborough’s Youth Emergency Shelter (YES) is a youth and family emergency shelter and is my community-based organization of choice. They provide basic but essential supports for young individuals and families in crisis, namely housing and counselling. I believe every young person should be given the opportunity to be their best self. YES provides transitional supports for youth to bridge into full and positive lives. YES relies on the generosity of people and organizations from Peterborough and area to continue to bring much-needed stability to the lives of youth at risk.”
