Who Stéphane is

Stéphane is an architect and artist with a deep-rooted connection to nature, having grown in the small northern city of Timmins, Ontario, surrounded by the Boréal forest. His love for the outdoors fuels his passion for creating designs that foster meaningful connections between people and the natural world.

After spending eleven years on the West Coast, Stéphane, along with his wife and two young children, has returned to Ontario, embracing the lifestyle that cottage country offers.

“Good design has the power to meaningfully shape the human experience; this is my driving force in the design world.”

Why Stéphane Does It

Stéphane believes that good design has the power to reshape how we live and interact with the world. With people spending much of their lives indoors, the spaces they occupy can have a profound impact on both their physical and mental well-being. Stéphane’s goal with every project is to positively influence the lives of building occupants and the surrounding community, creating spaces that are both functional and inspiring.

What Stéphane Does

As an Architect and Senior Project Lead, Stéphane brings extensive technical expertise and leadership to each project. His experience spans working with diverse, multidisciplinary teams, where he often serves as both Architect and BIM lead. He is passionate about wood construction, particularly mass timber, and nearly all his projects have been built using this sustainable material. Stéphane believes strongly in using the most renewable resources available to shape the built environment, ensuring that his designs contribute to a more sustainable future. He has successfully delivered a wide range of projects, from collaborations with First Nations communities to work for global clients like Google.

Giving

“Stéphane has been involved with the SUPA organization for many years, fundraising and volunteering at their events. SUPA provides opportunities for autistic children and their families to experience the pure joy of surfing, through surf lessons with individualized support SUPA organizes and runs an annual event on the shores of Tofino, BC, made possible by countless dedicated volunteers. SUPA covers many of the costs that families would incur making the trip over to the event through which they rely on sponsors and donations to make this possible. It is an incredibly moving experience seeing the happiness that this event brings to kids and their families living with autism. Surf’s Up creates a inclusive community environment making memories that last a lifetime. “
